I made an e-ink photo frame using a Raspberry Pi and Waveshare's e-ink display that shows data from my Home Assistant server. Here's a Youtube video I made of it and the full source code is available on Gitlab.

The display is from Waveshare, 7.5 inch 3-color e-ink display

The data that is displayed is from Home Assistant, it uses the Darsky and Calendar components.
